“it now seems that our new mayor will even have power over foreign policy”
This is typical of you, Ted. Nobody is saying the mayor has power over foreign policy – though a strategy that sought foreign investment direct into Tower Hamlets wouldn’t be a terrible idea – but views on foreign policy matter. The electorate in Tower Hamlets clearly believes so.
I was at the TELCO “hustings” and throughout the evening I had a good view of Andrew Gilligan in the audience. You would never guess where he was seated, it was in the East London Mosque section! How funny, maybe he’s an undercover entryist! But what was even more strange to see was that aside from the politics, he did not once applaude, look at or appreciate entertainment provided by a group of young black people performing a wonderful dance routine. How bizzare? Gilligan you need to get a life!
Yes but if the investment money comes in where does the investment money go? Why do we allow those who control that money to give it to mates, supporters and other people they want to control?
Foreign policy issues are a useful distraction from what is going on under our noses.
