The so-called Panorama “whistleblower”, who is a suspect in a criminal investigation by the Information Commissioner’s Office into breaches of the Data Protection Act, offered us more of her coherent thoughts last night. The best I can say is that I have no idea how she got through journalism college.
Here it is:
In my last blog I had highlighted some key experiences that I had while being involved in the Panorama programme The Mayor and Our Money and after that I remained silent so that it can allow the people of Tower Hamlets (considering it affects them) to decide their opinion upon my action. Therefore I would like to firstly thank all of those people who have allowed their minds to be open and actually understand the situation before pouncing on me and judging me. So Thank you.
Now, I have read many of the reports relating to the Panorama programme, some of which are worthwhile reading and some of which are just pure rubbish. Reading them made me question the world we live in, where lies are so easily believed yet the truth has to be fought out. Amazing isn’t it, reminds me of a quote by John Lennon,’we live in a world where we have to hide to make love, while violence is practiced in broad daylight’.
Most of the negative portrayal obviously is coming from the BBC side, for example Ted Jeory and even John Ware took time out to write about me making so called ‘false claims’. But what is it that they are trying to establish? What is it that they are trying to make me feel? Guilt? Are they trying to question my own mind into making me believe that what I did was wrong? Well I’m afraid I am going to have to disappoint them there because even now I still stand by what I did and still believe that the programme was biased and did have racial undertones. Just because the programme that was broadcast to the public was narrowed down and the content was drastically changed, the original programme which I had the dossier to had negative references to the Bengali community such as taking the ‘mickey’ out of the way Bengali people spoke English.
Moving on, my lawyers still have not received any news from the BBC, Films of Record or the ICO so why does Ted Jeory seem to think that there is a criminal investigation under way against me? That annoyed me, how about Mr Ted Jeory you stop poking your nose in, stop trying to be a ‘little gossip’ and stop manipulating the minds of your readers and let the ICO do their job and let them decide the action they feel fair against me. But I have to question, how will the ICO investigate the minds of the people associated with this programme? How will the ICO stop the programme makers racial thoughts? How will the ICO experience what I experienced while working there? ‘It seems that the safest opinion in this world is to have no opinion. Why? Because truth changes. It plays hide and seek. The nearest you can come to an informed judgement would require a serious investigation, digging in archives, interviewing eye-witnesses. What normal citizen has time for that? So we leave it up to journalists, historians, politicians. And the result is…CHAOS.
The statement in Mr Jeory’s latest blog, ‘she lasted four days before the team waved goodbye to her’, made me chuckle because firstly, it is five days and secondly I had sent an email to a member of the team stating ‘no thanks’. Ted Jeory, if you are going to be closed minded would you mind being closed mind aswell?
Just in case these ‘journalists’ assume I am ‘lying’,here is a screen-shot of the email from ME to the team:
As for the ICO, I will definitely co operate with them once I hear something from them and as for me handing over the dossier, I perhaps understood the implications that it may have on me but I could not have consciously allowed such biased programme to go ahead and fill the mind of the public with filth and hatred towards brown skin, because remember, we are not born racist. It is the idea of fear that always works to influence the population. This is were racism starts and as I am aware ‘the media is the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent and that is power, because they control the mind of the masses’.
My thoughts about the Bengali sources is that they were traitors. Any Bengali person who speaks negatively or belittles the Bengali people in my eyes are traitors, just like during our liberation war in 1971 some fellow Bengali people lost their way and sold themselves to the rival army, these so called ‘sources’ (all of them who have some kind of hidden agenda against Lutfur Raman) are similar to them and have made the Bengali community look incompetent.
Finally, to me all this is propaganda. For a start it is not surprising to see who BBC or Films of record chose to first disclose my actions, Mr Ted Jeory, who ‘surprisingly’ seems to be married to a Bengali woman. My guess is that they thought people will be dormant and accept his views because ‘surely’ he cannot be racist when his own wife is of Bengali origin. Funny that, because Mr Jeory being married to a Bengali cultured woman you must have an idea of our Bengali culture. You must understand that many Bengali’s are very patriotic because Bangladesh is a country made by the blood of our freedom fighters. Shouldn’t you have been a little more sensitive in your approach instead of siding with ‘your friends’.Considering you have ‘so much’ to write about and you are almost ‘like neutral’ shouldn’t you have been the first person to come to me and asked what it was about the content of the programme that I found was insulting to the Bengali community for me to take such a step? But did you? No. Double standards is it?
As I have said before I belong to no political party, I do not even live in Tower Hamlets therefore it does not affect me as to who becomes the next Mayor of Tower Hamlets but I must say the way Mr Jeory writes so critically of Lutfur Rahman constantly, I sympathise with Mr Rahman to see what abuse and unfair portrayal he has to put up with. But I guess Lutfur Rahman is better than that to pay any attention to narrow minded people, no wonder he has been able to make such big improvements in Tower Hamlets. Makes me believe in is motto, ‘One Tower Hamlets’. Lastly I could not help but be amused at the statement, ‘ The characters now act like dim kids in a playground; back then it was proper adult hooliganism ‘,well perhaps if journalists like Ted Jeory stopped behaving like spoilt snobby brats, who seem to dictate, making outrageous allegations, spreading gossip and interfering these ‘dim kids’ maybe can have more time to actually get on with their jobs instead of wasting time trying to defend themselves.
Impressive isn’t it? I particularly like the last sentence, that journalists shouldn’t “interfere” with the way politicians conduct themselves. This from a so-called “journalist”. Would love to know her tutor’s thoughts.
As for the snide slurs on my understanding of my wife’s culture and the assertion that any Bengali who dares to criticise another Bengali is somehow a traitor, well….what planet? Ms So-called “Whistleblower”, have a read of this. It’s an account of my mother-in-law’s life. As you’ll see, she had a bit more experience of the 1971 liberation war than you did. And of hard core racism in the Seventies. And of genuine traitors.
And let’s put it this way, I’m fairly certain she’d give you a clip round the backside with her trusty walking stick right now.
WOW! Someone waving her platinum victim card while practicing her best taqiyya and she admits to be a interfering busybody who doesn’t live anywhere near TH. Does this hint of some radical who goes from mosque to mosque stirring up trouble against the indigenous population?
Signed: Interfering busybody from Spain.
I am wondering why the screenshot of Whistleblower’s email which was purportedly sent to BBC team shows an addressee @hotmail.co.uk
😉
Not a BBC team, a Films of Record team.
Maybe that’s what they used to stay in touch with her.
Or maybe there’s a massive conspiracy, and she planned all this, so sent it to some hotmail account she’d created herself, on Jan 17th, predicting that this would all blow up and that they’d say they’d sack her and wanting to fabricate some proof that this was not the case
So what is the answer Marc?
Anyway, that’s the sender’s (the whisteblower’s) address, not the addressee.
You are right oldford1. I missed “from” and saw “mailto” only…..
You’re on the ball for once Marc.
Well actually the overwhelming comment I have about ‘Whistleblowers’ blog post is the truly awful grammar and writing. It is concerning that she managed it out of high school let alone college. Journalism or media as a career requires some level of wordsmithing even at RT and Press TV. It does not reflect well on the producers that they employed such an obviously unqualified person, its not a surprize that she doesnt understand that wrong is wrong no matter who does it. Politics is made better by transparancy and waft of fresh air…
Try learning to spell ‘transparency’ or ‘surprise’ and people might take your critique seriously
I agree Marc, people should learn to spell.
Swaton road, check your spelling!
Wow Ted, seems like you’ve taken it personally
Question for you Ted, did you meet John ware straight after it was revealed that the dossier was handed to Lutfur?
Because I can clearly remember you went crazy and fired the first bullet against the whistle-blower. … In your blog
Very interesting.
Try asking a question that actually makes sense.
Wouldn’t that be how an investigative journalist is supposed to work? If true?
Andy, you are oldford1 and I claim my five pounds.
Aw, bless the child and her naivety… A journalist should not make judgements on content (in an ideal world), and they should not become part of the story.
Standards must be slipping.
Rahman has tweeted that it’s ‘another insightful article’. Not sure if he’s being serious or sarcastic.
She does seem to be a bit of a wally. I do hope she gets the book thrown at her for breaching confidentiality and theft.
I’m an untrained journalist. I report the news usually with better and more detailed facts and always with much better photographs.
Inevitably I have an opinion of what journalists should report – its simple
without embellishment and without favour. A good journalist is an accurate observer and recorder of the facts.Whilst journos have personal feelings and personal dislikes, their task is to accurately report the facts and, as Southall European advised, not become an integral part of the story the journalist is allegedly dispassionately reporting.
It is not common in England to have sex on the pavement especially when its raining or freezing cold or pedestrians are trying to walk past.
Expressions of love can be gentleness, hand holding, making silly jokes, hugging, holding, being supportive – they can be done outside regardless of the cold and the rain. More intelligent people usually prefer to have sex indoors, away from prying eyes, distractions and in comfort.
Perhaps the Lady will realise her quotation was inappropriate and actually waffle in her long posting. What a true Journo might call a deliberate “Red Herring” to divert the public’s attention away from the weakness of her assertions.
Curious Cat
The Lady wrote
The Lady must be deranged to think ANY UK broadcaster would ever dream to broadcast any material intended to
.Besides lots of whites think a brown tanned skin is a sexy attraction much better than paste white skin.
Rhetoric and waffle is a pitiful substitute for simple facts. Inevitably one asks whether those facts actually exist – if they do, why are they missing from the posting ?
Curious Cat
Where does one start? The style and grammar are execrable. The arguments and thought processes are confused and disordered. Is this girl quite well? Here prose is hardly readable, did she have a future in journalism even before the Panorama affair? Ted, she seemed particularly exercised about your relationship with Mrs. J. Lets hope you haven’t inadvertently created your own stalker. I hope she is a one off, as most “20 nothing” Bengali women seem much more sensible(and indeed better educated).
As for one Bangladeshi daring to speak badly of another, what is the Bengali for “Omertà”? I thought we had got beyond the days of migrant communities keeping their “dirty little secrets” to themselves, but apparently not. In any case where was “Madam” when Hellal Abbas was being traduced in the Bengali press regarding a 20 year old bankruptcy and totally unsubstantiated allegations of domestic violence and “wife beating”?
Her knowledge of Bangladesh history also seems incomplete and partisan. For the record: in 1947 East Bengal became part of a new Muslim state as East Pakistan. For many years West Pakistan treated the eastern state as a virtual colony, and in 1971 a civil war broke out. Those who sided with the Pakistani military were not “bought”, their religious “Islamist” sympathies outweighed the nationalist ones for the new state of Bangladesh. These Islamists formed the Razakar, Al-shams and Al-badr death squads and were responsible for numerous “war crimes”. When India invaded and Pakistan lost control in the east, many of the Islamist leadership fled (in many cases to London), while others eventually formed the far-right Bangladeshi Jamaat-e-Islami Party. Now, many consider the notorious Islamic Forum of Europe, based at the East London Mosque, to be the British chapter of Jamaat-e-Islami. The IFE is also widely thought to have a pernicious and undemocratic influence in Tower Hamlets, specifically on the Mayor and his Tower Hamlets First Party. So who exactly are the traitors to their former homeland and and who are patriots?
What is sad is the fact that she didn’t really need to write such long essays, she could of made it short and straight to the point, but instead she has creates her own dossier.
Anyhow, the only issue I have is the fact that she has taken this to levels that have never been seen, in fact, too personal. I’m baffled as to why she would label any Bengali who speaks the truth or challenges their own would be deemed as a “traitor”… Seriously? Frankly, that says it all about her. How can you claim to be a journalist but tell others that they are traitors or sell-outs for talking about their community? You know what, I don’t want to know!!!
Laila, didn’t Derek and the Dominoes sing about you?
Actually making oneself part of the story is a Hunter S. Thompson [qv] tradition that was called ‘gonzo journalism’: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonzo_journalism. So perhaps this is nod to ‘modernity’, given that Hunter S. was mainly a creature of the 1960s?
I think he got it from William Burroughs.
For a small fee I will re-write whole thing, in English.
Her writing does NOT bode well for any future career in journalism. Quite the reverse if anything.
She has difficulty separating facts from opinions and demonstrates again and again that she’s not unprejudiced and fair-minded. Her comments would have a lot more weight if she were to demonstrate either of these qualities.
It also appears that she fails to understand the distinction between matters relating to:
1) data protection – which relates to the ICO. They have no remit with regard to discrimination and I don’t believe they will comment on this
2) discrimination within the context of the equalities act 2010 – which in essence is an employment contract/law issue in this context (I think!)
She also appears to assume she can attribute thoughts to people which must be investigated as opposed to evidence of actual discrimination which is the only thing that can be investigated. Last time I checked we didn’t have any “Thought Police” in the UK!
IMO if you have a headful of prejudice against anybody speaking out against your community – exemplified by her own words in her article above – then it’s fair to assume you might well read racial messages in where there are none intended.
My test for whether or not a programme is racist or not is to remove the ethnicity dimensions and then to review the basic propositions and the language used. For example – imagine this is a council somewhere else in the UK and the comments being levied at the Mayor are being made about him and his supporters in an area where the Mayor and all the councillors are white anglo saxon. It’s an interesting test – and one well worth doing.
If the programme stands up on that basis then to my mind it’s difficult to accuse it of being racist – it’s a programme in the public interest.
Unfortunately rather too many people are apt to play the race card when public interest hoves into view!
Finally her statements with regard to Ted and his wife are despicable. She does her viewpoint no favours and IMO dishonours her community when she displays such prejudice and outright contempt for people who disagree with her.
I’d love to hear what Ted’s mother-in-law has to say about her!
I am dumbfounded…… her grammar is atrocious. I’ve given up applying to the BBC for a job….I can see now where perhaps I’ve been going wrong…surely it can’t be my lack of ethnicity…!!? A little girl with a gob and a warped view of historic accounts. Wasted access to education.
I suspect she took advantage of all the “positive selection” processes around… She could definitely have got a job with Channel 4 News!
She’s just Tweeted this to me:
>>What’s the point of responding back to a fool. They will just bring you down to their level.
#panoramalies @tedjeory<<
I think she was offering me advice.
Are you going to take the Lady Journo’s advice ?
You never know, she might offer you some free tips on how to become a Better Journalist :-0
Can someone PLEASE explain why her name is being kept a secret? Surely I am not the only person who is wondering this?
Is this person worthy of all of your words? She is playing a game and you all seem to enjoy playing it.. When someone lowers the argument to insult a family that person is obviously very desperate. Let her drone on and hope that she visits her doctor soon so that
her medication can be increased.
If I’m not wrong the lady with the stick used to live in Varden St E1.
I see her account of her life mentions that notorious racist Terry Fitzpatrick. Although he didn’t earn any money. Those six years cost him thousands and almost his health. Google “Mal Sen” for her obituary and an account of that time.
I see the Socialist Rapists Party are lying again. http://www.socialistworker.org.uk. They are still claiming that at the time of his murder by the Met’s Special Patrol Group Blair Peach was one of their members as well as that of the ANL when in fact, as his family have never stopped pointing out, he had been expelled and all of the money collected for his family was kept by the SWP to pay the salaries of their full timers. What scumbags!
It’s a whistle blowign alright! The fact that it is way out of tune is really so irritating!
So a Bengali who works with a white guy is “a traitor” but a white guy who WON’T work with a Bengali is “a racist”.
This doublethink is doing my head in.
It says a lot about their attitudes towards us. We are clearly “the enemy” in her eyes – and those of her masters – which would imply this is not about immigration and integration but rather about infiltration and colonisation.
I know this is a Christian country but I’m done with turning the other cheek.
PS. Why are you hiding her identity?
http://www.swadhinata.org.uk. Then click oral history. The group were squatters in Varden St and the photo was taken in 1976 or 1977.
No offence but they should really change their name to OfPHC (organisation for the promotion of Hindu Culture).
Let me explain briefly before I get accused of all sorts. All Bengalis were Hindus (fact). Many became Muslims as a protest to the injustices suffered but without much understanding about Islam (opinion).
There is an instinct among some Bengalis to promote the culture of their forefathers – the Hindu culture. Instead of this that and the other e.g. swadhinata etc. just be OfPHC!
Click projects and activities first then oral history. The whole site is fascinating and a history that Lutfur Rahman and co have erased with their ridiculous publications purporting to be an account of what happened.
The writing’s on the wall for Lutfur:
http://shiftinggrounds.org/2014/04/the-writings-on-the-wall-for-lutfur-rahman/
I see Dan’s shifted once again. In 2010 he was pro John, then he was pro Lutfur, then pro Abbas. He’s since been pro Lutfur on this blog repeatedly in the intervening period. Not sure that piece will last long once Nigel’s lawyers get a look at it
What is the latest on that police investigation? I seem to recall Lutfur pretty much accused Labour of orchestrating it.
Hi Ted
Why don’t you rename your blog to
‘Muslims in trial’
It will make it far more easier for the bigots and haters here to make more frank comments.
What do you think?
Because that would be illiterate. Why don’t you try again? Did you play truant at school? Or are you?
I actually use to truant from school gosh how did you know? ?
Your blog is getting a bit tedious btw
No one forcing you to stay here, old chap. You’ll come back though, I’m sure of that.
@Andy If you have an issue with any of the points made in this comment string, feel free to raise specific issues, rather than make snide, offensive and ill-founded allegations.
Sorry who are you?
Criticising a Bangladeshi or a Muslim simply because they are Bangladeshi or Muslim would be abhorrent.
Lutfur Rahman is not being criticised because he is a Bengali Muslim, he and his supporters simply happen to be rotten to the core. That’s why they’re getting in the neck.
The rules of Journalsim have changed. Quality Jornalism has gone down the drain.
Having had to compile such boring trash as the 3rd-rate Panorama ‘expose’…. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the fledgling journalist.
Hope she survives the interrogation from the ‘PC police’ and returns with some good stories.
Every public officer should expect public scrutiny. Tory cabinet ministers have been sent to prison, as have Tory Lords.
But dare to criticise a Muslim Politician and expect the spotlight turned upon you!
This girl is a reactionary ethno religious bigot. I don’t wish to live in a society dragged back to a time of fear of making criticism of our lords & masters. You appear to be attempting to introduce a version of Lèse-majesté — death to those who dare to disagree!
The race card is pernicious and ugly. How dare you play it so casually.
As to this idiot child? Well I’m sure her future is bright. Even Boko Harram has a press office these days and her pals in TH will find a child sized desk for her to scribble with her crayons at.
Aside from the potential defamatory aspect of the paragraph specifically referring to me which I am referring to lawyers as I write, perhaps Dan should realize that the vast majority of the slanderous drivel is pure fiction:
– Lutfur did not “search” for me; I wrote to him on behalf of residents to invite him as the Executive Mayor to the Royal Visit;
– The funding for the Royal Visit was from the Department of Communities & Local Government (Headed by the Tory Secretary of State, Eric Pickles), and the Old Ford HA Residents Federation – not one penny was sought from the Mayor or the Town Hall and none was offered – SIMPLE;
– The event was actually the East End Coronation Anniversary Gala celebrating 60 years since the Queen’s coronation; The Duchess of Gloucester came to attend this and also kindly agreed to officially RE-open the community centre which had been out of use to residents, as the local housing association had been using it as an IT Training Centre for the previous 2 years;
– Perhaps with all the nonsense floating around in Dan’s head he hears Brass Bands, but I can reassure everyone, no Brass Band was hired, nor did any brass band gate crash the event – we had a steel orchestra celebrating the east end’s links to the Caribbean; the East London Royals Majorettes doing a great performance to a cockney “knees up” medley; a British-Bangladeshi singer, a Jazz Quartet, the Fire Brigade, Army Cadets, Veterans with their medals, Chelsea Pensioners, The Bishop of Stepney and Bishop of Botswana accompanying the Commonwealth Deputy Secretary-General. Of course the Mayor was invited as was the LABOUR Speaker of the Council .
– In organising this event I was ably assisted by a resident committee, and we all agreed that we would not be partisan and we invited representatives on the basis we were respecting the office they held not the party political affiliation they had. This has all been explained to Dan numerous times – how sad he is unable to grasp exceedingly simple facts.
Thanks Nigel. Can you send me your email?
Off topic………….but very interesting

Yes, the Conservatives stand to gain (statistically) from making it harder for people who struggle with English to vote.
As they do from individual voter registration: http://www.politics.co.uk/news/2011/10/19/labour-left-seething-over-voter-registration-
If people can’t speak English there are practical arguments why they shouldn’t be allowed to take part in the electoral system.
Hear, Hear.
Labour just loves voters who need LABOUR supporters to tell them how to vote and Labour supporters to complete the boring and confusing formalities on postal votes – like putting the X in the correct box.
I wonder if the Son of Labour and his party use the same Labour tactics. Without postal voting Labour would loose lots of seats. Wonder how this affects Son of Labour’s party.
Curious Cat.
Phew! ‘Traitors’ ….. So tired of these vituperative juvenile hissy fits – signal
of the knee jerk reaction amped up by guilt – attempting to drown out any & all
lucidity of comment backed by evidence. Lady doth protest too much and reveals the banality of mob petition.
“My thoughts about the Bengali sources is that they were traitors. Any Bengali person who speaks negatively or belittles the Bengali people in my eyes are traitors, just like during our liberation war in 1971 ”
She sounds like a Nazi.
To be honest, I think she’s v naive and is being quite ruthlessly exploited for political purposes. She’s been egged on and wiser counsel would advise her to lay low for a bit.
‘She shounds like a Nazi’ seems below the belt! ‘…She’s Naive..’ spot on!
ELA reports that Mayor Rahman spent £37k of public money on lawyers to find out whether the Panorama programme could be aired so close to the elections.
I think he should give that money back.
The current edition of Shurma, one of the bigger selling Bangladeshi weeklies, has a front page article featuring the letter to the Guardian and the pictures of all of the signatories including Livingstone and Shawcroft. When is Milliband going to get off his backside, expel the pair of them and come down to the East End to support his candidate?
Well, well….Livingstone has also come out in support of Biggs only because he has to officially support the Labour candidate.
The left wing politics of Livingstone and Lutfur are one and the same. Livingstone ran as an independent and won the mayoralty with Labour’s yesterday’s man Dobson proving not much of a challenge for him. Similarly, Lutfur faces Labour’s yesterday’s man, Biggs for Tower Hamlets’ mayoralty. Biggs does not command support from within his own party in 2014. He did not command support in 2010 when the party went for the third placed candidate, Abbas overlooking Biggs when they ousted Biggs.
Biggs is Labour’s candidate by default, not because the local party faithful think he is competent to be mayor. The thing is that no credible alternative candidate emerged from within Labour between 2010 and 2014 so the party went backwards. And now they are stuck with Biggs who looks increasingly out of depth with everything. He is not running a very good campaign to even attempt to stand up to Lutfur.
Believe me, Labour party members want to vote Labour, but just not John Biggs.
Correction: read “….when they ousted Lutfur” in the last sentence of the second para.
There is a lot of similarity between Livingstone and Rahman but it isn’t because they both espouse socialist programmes. Both are cynical opportunists with massive egos who prefer grandiose impractical and hugely expensive schemes to the actual nitty gritty of running things. Both regarded the public purse as their personal piggy bank dispensing huge amounts of public money to close supporters in return for the votes they could deliver.
This of course backfired on Livingstone when he found that the crocodile tears he shed and the apology he gave on behalf Londoners for slavery backfired. He lost the support of the white working class who had stood by him from the days of the GLC confrontations with Thatcher.
As far as I can make out from talking to Labour Party people and knocking on the door canvassing Biggs is popular and has united a broad swathe of opposition to the Rahman corruption. Let’s hope May 22nd is the end of Rahman as the last GLA election was the end of Livingstone.
It may well be that Rahman is getting nervous to judge by an entry in the London Evening Standard yesterday.
INTERPRETERS AT POLLING STATIONS “ARE FRAUD RISK”.
A minister warned today that a council’s use of translators in polling stations could lead to voter fraud. Tower Hamlets is to post a Bengali interpreter at every polling station for the elections on May 22nd.
Local government minister Brandon Lewis raised concerns that they migt pressure people into voting one way or the other without electoral officers realising. The council says the interpreters operate under strict rules not to influence voters and are necessary to help its large Bangladeshi population.
In a parliamentary answer, Mr Lewis said it was ” disappointing ” that Tower Hamlets had ignored government guidance discouraging the use of interpreters in polling stations.
Tower Hamlets Cllr Peter Golds has written to the Electoral Commission to change rules which allow the practice.
I have never come across any Bangladeshi who couldn’t fathom out the list of candidates on a ballot sheet so there is no other reason for them to be there other than to intimidate anti Lutfur Bangladeshis as happened last time.
Or to “helpfully” point out the Labour candidates (as was last time – will be Lutfur this time), then “check” the Bangladeshi women voters have voted the right way.
