More on Labour’s continuing fiasco to pick a candidate for Tower Hamlets mayor later. (And they want us to believe they’re capable of running a £1 billion borough!)
He’s back….

No. Hes not.Sirjul and Lutfur not on list
Despite LR’s bizarre press conference yesterday, he’s not been shortlisted.
Is anyone taking odds on him leaving Labour and taking a few IFE stooges with him, and running as an independent? Sadly, I doubt he will, he wouldn’t stand a chance and is better off staying in Labour and nobbling the successful candidate with some sort of deal.
He’s just sent another email with an attached letter, pruportedly from Roy Kennedy (Director of Finance & Compliance) saying he’s been added to the shortlist.
The language is a bit stilted and in one place wrong (it says the appeal was heard “at Labour Party Head”), but it would seem an odd thing to send out if untrue.
What the letter says is this.
23rd July 2010,
Dear Mr Rahman
Tower Hamlets Mayoral Selection
————————————
You appealed against your exclusion from the shortlist for selection as Labour candidate as Myor of Tower Hamlets.
The appeal was heard on Friday 23rd July at Labour Head.
Decision
Your appeal is allowed and your name will be aded to the shortlist.
This decision is final.
Yours sncerely
Roy Kennedy
Director of Finance and Compliance.
All in all a complete farce.
